CareOne at New Milford

I recently visited my family member at this assisted living facility, and the experience was very concerning. The moment you walk in, the lobby and hallway smell like a dirty bathroom, and the elevator area is dark and uninviting. My aunt was in the common area, which also smelled bad. There were about 30+ residents and only two aides (a third came in and out). The aides were kind, but they were clearly overwhelmed. The TV was on with music playing, but there was no real interaction, no activities, and no stimulation. One resident sat alone facing a wall for the entire two-hour visit. When we took my aunt to her room to change her, we found out she had been moved to another room. Abusive, negligent, ignorant, poorly run.. Lack of care. They will not continue care from hospital. Call bell can ring for hours. Nothing is addressed whether it has to do with the patient health or whether it has to do with the environment within the facility.. This is not a place you wanna go. This is not a place you wanna put your loved ones. A lot of cover-ups here.\n They need to be investigated, they need to be shut down and licenses should be taken away. I\n Can't tell you how many times I was put in danger and then threatened if I said anything.

We really liked this nursing home. Entire staff is excellent and very helpful to the entire family and the patient. They took great care of our father. His room was always neat and clean without any smell. Nurses and aides were always there to help him. We would heartily recommend this facility for their loved ones. The Dementia unit at this facility is horrible! They treat patients worst than animals. They are understaffed and the staff seems overwhelmed and very short tempered. My mom was at this facility for 4 months where she had a number of bruises on her forehead, arms and legs. They were never charted and when I questioned them, they blamed it on my mom being behavioral. However, my mom has been back home with me for 2 months and she has yet to have one bruise. My mom was neglected and so are the many residents there. It is so sad to witness these people with dementia who can't advocate for themselves and many don't even have family members who can do it form them. I wish I can give a million stars!! I cannot be grateful enough for such a magnificent, caring, responsible and loving staff. My mother was very well taken care for. The visits were well accommodated for everyone. Communication is perfect from all staff via telephone, email, and in person. I have zero complaints. Unfortunately, it was too far for us to visit and that is the only reason why we had to pick her up. God bless you all and your families. You all do extremely well with all your services for all your residents and follow through with details with their family members.
