Care-Age Of Brookfield

I spent time around this community and was repeatedly concerned by cleanliness and supervision. I observed insects in resident areas, residents left unattended in common spaces, and ongoing sanitation and organization issues that did not seem to improve. While many staff appeared to be trying their best, the overall environment reflected a lack of consistent oversight and follow-through. Based on what I personally observed, I would strongly encourage families to ask detailed questions and take a close look before trusting this facility with a loved one’s care.

My Dad has been at Care age post surgery for 12 days. While the staff is relatively friendly it is apparent they are understaffed. I have visited at various times and meal trays are sitting around from breakfast, lunch or whenever. His room always feels dirty. He isn’t allowed to get up on his own and has spiked himself because no one got there fast enough and then left for hours in his own mess. He spilled coffee on the floor and the spill was still there two days later. His eyeglasses disappeared. He’s requested meals in the dining room but he isn’t moved. Overall cleanliness is lacking. No clue when he is bathed. His meds, PT and OT are not scheduled for a specific time so it happens when they get to him. He is depressed and can’t wait to get home but at this pace he may never get ou

Care was good, but we work in healthcare and can understand that odors could better be handled. That’s important for families.it impacts the perception of cleanliness.

The grounds at Care Age are tranquil and beautiful. The staff is helpful and friendly and interested in the well being of their guests.,(

My mother needed to have PT after several weeks in the hospital. We found that from the moment we arrived the staff was very welcoming. Her Nurse, Val, was fantastic. She was attentive, caring and went the extra mile to make sure mom was doing okay. Kristin, her PT, was so sweet and made sure to get mom to do her PT exercises. Lindsay, her Occupational Therapist, also was great with mom and really worked her. It was a great experience and mom left feeling ready to get back to her apartment and tackle everyday activities.
