Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Emergency

This review is for Dr. Germano specifically. I went in today with a bad laceration on my hand that needed stitches. He let me in on a little secret that it was his first day on the job after moving here, and he was feeling the nerves. Regardless, he was warm and funny and did a beautiful job stitching me up while putting me totally at ease. ER doctors can have a bad reputation of being cold and clinical but he was really wonderful. I think he’ll be a great addition! I hope someone could personally pass this along 🙏🏼

I had an exceptional experience at BMH Emergency Room, where the medical professionals demonstrated remarkable efficiency, expertise, and compassion. They swiftly helped my boyfriend's condition and involved us in the treatment decision-making process, providing a sense of security during a stressful time. The nursing staff went above and beyond to create a soothing environment (As much as they could for it being an emergency room), alleviating anxiety and fostering a positive healing atmosphere. I am immensely grateful for the exceptional care we received and highly recommend BMH Emergency Room for their unwavering dedication to patient well-being. Unacceptable behavior by staff- EMTs were told to send me to waiting room, then told to remove my IV so i could go to the waiting room. Wonderful non-BMH EMT refused. Staff complained about my presence, saying I should have gone to my PCP- I don't have a PCP. I heard them say lead poisoning isn't an emergency, saying I was wasting their time.. Noone even asked if I was okay for an hour, others were given blankets and water. Never was checked in and given a bracelet. Walked out. Walked home with severe lead poisoning symptoms. Going to another ER where I might be treated like a human.

I’ve been to hospitals in several different states, and I can say this is the worst I’ve ever been in. Rude staff, rude doctors that don’t do anything but medicate you and send you out the door. My husband came in by ambulance with severe back pain, having trouble breathing and couldn’t walk and he sit in the lobby on a stretcher for hours, never got x-rays or any kind of tests at all. I wouldn’t recommend this ER to anyone, unless you are having a critical emergency, otherwise go somewhere else. If I could give 0 stars I would.

6 days agoNEW-Edit I was treated like dirt by the staff in the Emergency Room. One staff member threatened to throw me out because I was unable to talk loud enough. I was having trouble speaking because I was in severe abdominal pain and it hurt to talk. I was refused the use of a wheelchair, which I requested because I had severe abdominal pain and it hurt to walk. This is not the first time I’ve been treated this way at the BMH Emergency Room. I have three serious chronic medical conditions that occasionally require emergency care. I would like to be able to get the medical care I need without having to face being treated with disdain, humiliation, or abuse. I’ll be filing a formal complaint with the hospital and working with a legal patient advocacy organization to ensure that I am
