Bishop Veterinary Hospital

Bishop is the best Vet. We drove over 100 miles to get here. We got a cat and a dog neuter. The people are professional and very nice, even to our cat Dave.

My pup and I are forever grateful for the life-saving care provided by Dr. Kowalska and the rest of the team at Bishop Vet Hospital! While traveling to the Eastern Sierra for a work trip, my pup, Winston, experienced some extreme and prolonged symptoms (vomiting, straining to poop, loss of appetite) that worried me. I scheduled an emergency appointment at the Mammoth Lakes location (emergency fee is $120… very reasonable compared to the $460 fee I’ve paid in my hometown). They immediately sent me to the Bishop location for X-rays, leading to emergency surgery that evening. Dr. K was amazing throughout the whole process! She explained everything to me very clearly, gave me the appropriate information to make an informed decision, and treated me with kindness and empathy (I was a mess!) wh

We had an extremely upsetting experience at this hospital. From the moment the veterinarian entered the room, he made assumptions about our ability to pay before any discussion took place. He repeatedly suggested we contact friends or family for money prior to us mentioning any financial concerns. Our cat, who had an injured leg and was clearly in pain, was removed from his carrier in a rough and aggressive manner, which caused him visible distress. After briefly leaving the room, the veterinarian returned and stated that treatment would cost nearly $3,000 and told us that if we could not pay immediately, our cat would be euthanized. I wish I could give Dr. Kowalska and everyone in this office a big hug for helping us with our dog's diagnosis. Never have I felt such empathy and love from a veterinarian. Their gentle kindness and clarity in explaining the results made a huge difference in our ability to choose what was right for our dog. This is a wonderful establishment.
