Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing

Long term care of loved ones is never pretty, nor is it easy. Despite that, the amazing staff at this establishment makes it their goal every day. From the nursing administrator, to PT and OT, and most importantly, the nursing staff and aides. My mom came in weak as a kitten, and the love and care she received while here is something I wish for everyone going through this. Again, it is NEVER an easy or pretty choice. These people understand what matters, and they are dedicated, overworked but cheerful, they bring hope and relief wherever they go. I highly recommend them, and applaud their efforts to maintain dignity and independence no matter the life stage or obstacle. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. P.S. - Val is the BEST nurse in the world!

My husband was assigned Birchwood Park as a short-term rehabilitation stay. He had surgery on both knees. He went in on a Thursday evening and let's just say by Monday I was working on getting him discharged. He was given a small bed initially and he is a tall man. We were told that they would get him a bigger bed. They brought in a bigger mattress (which sat outside his room for a whole day) and it was put on the same frame. This was not safe at all. There were no side bars, so he had to hang his leg over the side as a brace not to fall. There was an incident that happened over the weekend that the aide was not professional and quite frankly downright rude. In my eyes malicious, the last thing she said to him was "I am done with you for the night" and closed his door. I had to come up and

If you want to experience good food and an amazing dining experience, go check out Birch Wood. Birch Wood's Culinary Department serves the best food in town. Please do not just take my word for it please see attached photos. The Culinary Manager Tracy is something special. She cares and gives all of her time and attention to cater to her customers. The Culinary staff gives so much love and passion to their cooking it is hard to compete with this team.

My mother spent her end of life here and all I have to say is THANK YOU! This team, specifically Wanda and Stacy Lynn, were incredible. There was one CNA who stood out too, but I did not catch her name unfortunately. She knows who she is! She was a frequent popsicle getter, lol. I cannot thank you all enough for your attentiveness to my moms needs and dealing with her family (us, lol) every day. Thank you.

My dad had worst experiences there !!! I’m in Healthcare at a subacute Rehab in Philly and I can tell you this place Birchwood is bad! The DON never returned my calls, the intern administrator always blew me off ! The Unit nurse always blamed others for poor care ! It got so bad I took weekend Trip to Va Bch from Philly cause Dad was so upset staff was yelling at him ! He had a bed sore ! His feet were all blisters and had several wounds when I got there all they did was give me excuses ! The place also is so run down and dirty and smelled !
