Beverly Hills Urgent Care

This establishment has committed fraud per my insurance and lawyer. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE BEFORE YOU PLAN YOUR VISIT: I visited Beverly Hills Urgent Care in Los Angeles, CA, for an urgent medical need. At check-in, the front desk staff informed me that my insurance was accepted and that my total responsibility was an $80 copay. Months later, I began receiving calls from the “urgent care” claiming my insurance had denied the visit and that I owed the full balance. The urgent care later admitted that the visit had been miscoded as a “doctor’s office visit” instead of an “urgent care visit,” and stated that they would be resubmitting the claim correctly. I go here once a month or so. The doctor I see has great bed side manner and the staff is very cordial. Please note, there is a $5 charge for debit/credit transactions. At one point, the Urgent Care asked for a same day covid test. I haven't been asked in several visits, but I always make sure to have a negative test result from the same day before my appointment.

Took my son here after he fell at daycare and got a pretty bad cut on his forehead. Waited for over an hour before seeing the doctor, who took one look at the cut and told us he couldn't stitch it and we'd have to go to a plastic surgeon. We then didn't hear anything from them until we received an $300 bill. They waited until just prior to 90 days past our visit to send it out, and made sure to note in the letter that they would send us to collections if we hadn't paid within 90 days of the visit. They also called us the day after we received the bill to again threaten us with collections. UPDATE - After another conversation with my insurance company I have this information. The charges that were billed to my insurance company were, $350 for an Office Visit (new patient) $198 is allowed through the contract, and $800 for Treatment, $213 is allowed. As mentioned below the treatment consisted of a saline rinse and bandages. Officially their charge of $411.36 is within what is allowed by their contract. But does that make it right to charge that much for the type of services rendered? ____________________________________________________________________ My daughter cut her finger and we brought her in for possible stitches.
