Bergen New Bridge Medical Center

The F1 Unit at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center changed my life! I wouldn't say that I entered the program completely willing. The staff on this unit went above the call of duty and for that I will be forever grateful. That is from the clinical staff, the therapists, the MHA's, Peer Recovery etc, but here are some that I would like to acknowledge personally and I truly am sorry if I forgot anyone..thank you T, Sarah Jane, Rosalie, Ms. Cynthia;Nursing staff Maria, Carla, Minnie, Christian, Tilu, Donna, Yolanda, Barbara, Terry Ann;Peer Recovery -Charles, Nathan, Gary; the Recreational Therapist Corynn and Jerry and ; Administration, Tiffany and the many peers that came back to offer what was so genuinely given to them, the gift of Recovery. This place is a fraud! I was brought there by an ambulance to an ER and was stripped down that everything even my underwear was taking away! I felt like I am in prison the way how they show it on TV! Absolutely no treatment, only lots of test. I was told that my pregnancy urine test came back positive even though I had hysterectomy 6 years ago! My private information and a potential treatment plan was disclosed to a few people that I never allowed to disclose to! These people got much more information than me in a discharge papers! However my husband was not allowed to go in and be with me. When I tried to create a patient portal account putting my personal information, another name came up with my email and phone number. If you are actually in crisis, please find a different facility. I have unfortunately needed psychiatric help before for depression and substance abuse. This experience was by far the worst. I wouldn't go out of my way to leave a bad review, if they attempted to help at all. There are no groups other than coloring, the doctors see you for a couple minutes if you're lucky, majority of the nurses are mean to the patients for no reason, the nurses do not want to be bothered whatsoever. Now there are a couple nurses that were very nice and helpful but they are few and far between. Cleanliness of this place is non-existent, there were boogers on my walls and ceiling, the bathroom wasn't cleaned and a week and a half that I was there and I know that because I looked at the same broken nails on

I was scared after reading reviews on my way to er but I had a nice doctor who made me feel not scared,. and care a lot about me and my mental health even though we just met. maybe they hired new psychiatry? if you go to er ask for doctor gueruro I am probably misspell her name (she is tall, pretty, dark hair.) social worker was nice too and got me a appointment. thank you.

Absolute worst experience of my life. This place, taking mental health into consideration, is one of the worse if not the worse places you can visit. They do not treat you. They do not have your best interest in mind. They do not help you. They lock you in their facility, along with other people who most likely may not have similar issues to you, henceforth making you feel alienated, estranged, and scared. The doctors only give you less than 5 minutes to speak with them, as if they cannot be bothered to speak with you longer. As mentioned before, if you come here for a mental health crisis, they pair you up with people who might just be homeless or addicts, and give you no productive treatment, no genuine group therapy.
