Benedictine Living Community-At The Shrine

I have experienced meeting so many wonderful people here at our Benedictine Living Community since I moved here in February 2025!! The hard-working staff diligently tries to welcome new residents! There is definitely a family feeling here and many lovely trips and events are planned monthly. The culinary department offers delicious lunch and dinner choices and meeting in the dining room for meals promotes a good friendly atmosphere among residents.

We loved that our parents could start in Independent Living, then move to Assisted Living and/or Skilled Nursing and still be in the same complex. We had no idea how much we would absolutely love every aspect of each. They are very sufficiently staffed and the care is impeccable. The activities are thoughtful and engaging. Our parents have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. They are also very supportive of family and even offer on-site lodging for out-of-town visitors. I am so grateful our parents were able to come here!

Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine has been a true blessing for our family. My parents have both stayed in different parts of the community — my mother in Dammert Nursing Care, including during her brief hospice stay, and my father in both nursing and independent living. I have always felt a sense of peace and security knowing they are surrounded by staff who truly care about their well-being. My father has received rehabilitation and ongoing supportive services that have allowed him to maintain a level of independence he might not otherwise have. I’m deeply grateful for the compassionate staff and the warm, welcoming culture that makes this such a special community.

The staff at the Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine is absolutely amazing! My parents are on the independent side, and everyone has been so amazingly friendly! When I walk down the halls, the residents say hello, and the staff stop to ask how things are going. The administration offices are always open and willing to talk to you. When I have concerns, they are addressed immediately. My father needs assistance with medication reminders, and the people who remind him are awesome! They know my parents, converse with them, making them feel heard, and they are genuinely concerned with their well-being. Benedictine is not your usually large retirement facility. It’s a nice size so the residents can get that personalize touch. Employees are friendly and always willing to assist. Vicky and Mary are the cleaning custodians and are very nice. The maintenance guys are superb (Jim, Bruce, Roger and countless others are wonderful). The facility brings in interesting entertainment on a regular basis. They also have field trips and outings for the residents to enjoy. They have chair volleyball and exercise classes for the residents. The employees try to stay on top of the needs of the residents. During the holidays, the entire Shrine area is decorated in Christmas lights.
