Bayside of Poquoson Health and Rehab

My father was a longtime resident that recently passed away. He seemed to be comfortable here And in his last days the staff was friendly , comforting and all around helpful . It was already a stressful Time , but they made it a little bit easier . I had several nurses and the physical therapist that would walk by and saw me upset and actually came in and hugged me and made sure I was ok. I appreciate you taking such good care of my father ❤️

My 99 year old mother-in-law stayed 5 days… a respite program through hospice… the staff seemed nice but when the transport service brought her home, the staff had forgotten to send her personal transfer chair, some of her meds, including her Dilaudid (a highly controlled medication), her blanket and some minor things… while in the facility, she fell and hurt her back… and had several skin tears… I live in Gloucester and had to make two- one hour and a half trips to Poquoson…I simply feel compelled to alert anyone considering this facility as an option for care…

My mother and father have been residents at Bayside for over a year now- and we thank God every day for Bayside and the staff there. They take wonderful care of mom and dad - mom has quite a few health issues and daddy has some dementia. My sisters and I are there several times a week - and I can honestly say they treat every resident with dignity, kindness and compassion. Every Bayside team member - nurses, aides, physical therapy, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance and the administrative staff - are exceptional in each position they hold. My family is so thankful for these men and women who choose to work in this field - they are genuinely kind and compassionate people. When we drive away - we know our mom and dad are in good hands. The Staff at Bayside of Poquoson were very professional and friendly to my Uncle & family. We chose the facility for Hospice care. My Uncle transitioned after a week at the facility. The nursing staff made sure that he was clean and comfortable. They regularly came in the room and held conversations with him. This was a very hard decision to make. I appreciate the staff for being attentive and allowing my Uncle to transition with dignity.

Unfortunately,the review page doesn't allow you to give 0 stars. Bottom line, they killed my mother. Tried to sue the facility but it's almost impossible to find an attorney that is willing to sue a nursing home. To be fair, this was five years ago. I read that they have a new owner, so hopefully the facility is better now.
