Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation - Frisco

In 2019 I had a stroke and after a week in one of BS&W hospital I was sent to this facility as an inpatient. I was there of 4-6 weeks and received the best care that anyone could receive. The therapists there worked with me every day and were always encouraging and supportive in trying to get me back to a normal life. After my stay at this facility I had many more week as an out patient where my recovery continued. And I now enjoy a normal life with my family and work. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to get back most of my normal functions. My loss was some where between 8-12 percent o my left side functions. My 90 year old mother, enter this facility after a stay in the hospital. She has stayed in several facilities for rehabilitation in DFW but this facility was by far the nicest and most professional run of all of them. As soon as she entered her room, she was greeted by the nurse and a physical therapist. They explained to her about her upcoming stay would entail. Within 30 minutes, Dr. Light came and talked to my mother. During mom’s stay, DFW experienced an ice storm. I could not make it to Frisco because of the roads. I was very apprehensive about my mom being there alone. However, when I talked to mom, she assured me all her needs were being met. She loved the physical therapist and occupational therapist. I cannot say enough about this facility and its staff. My dad had a craniotomy and arrived in mid October. Dr. Lo is amazing, knowledgeable, and caring. Shout out to our wonderful rehab assistants Eleni, Yeleni, and Landry, and to our nurses Lexi, Annie, Laxmi, and Angela. Your care and kindness gave us so much peace because we knew my dad was in good hands. I also want to thank Kaitlyn, Harley, Caroline, Dorthy, Paige, Annie, Srividya, and Devin. Great care and service by the staff. Very professional and friendly. Highly recommend this rehab should you or anyone you know need to spend any amount of time to recover before going back home! Heidi and Patty, in particular, were uch a pleasure to work with. So was the OT, but, unfortunately, I cannot remember her name.

99% of the staff are absolutely amazing. It would have been nice to have been told there is a max stay of 10 days. We would have gone elsewhere. My 84-year-old Mom needs more than 10 days to rehab after a back fracture.
