Barton Memorial Hospital Emergency Department

I had an amazing experience at Barton's ER. I was on vacation with a friend and wasn't sure where to go or what to expect. The team was friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and knowledgeable, from the time I arrived to the time I was discharged. I wish I could remember everyone's names to give them all a personal THANK YOU!! The gentleman who checked me in was very patient. He assured me that my insurance was accepted and I was at the right place. My doctor, Tom, did an awesome job. He showed empathy and compassion, and he spent the time explaining steps and treatment plans. I felt like a person, not a number. This was an amazing doctor-patient care experience. The first RN that took care of me was very kind. Dorothy, the next RN with the shift change, was really attentive, sweet, and funny. The

I went in from an ice skating fall and from the minute i walked in the staff could not of been more accomodating, polite, quick, and caring. Im from out of town and wished this was the same type of service Id recieve from the hospital where im from(theyre always rude and take hours). Dr. Michael Mc. Laughlin was very-very nice, informative and spent quality time explaining what to expect from my broken humorous bone. He didnt rush me and it felt like he actually cared. The nurse, xray tech, and everyone else i interacted with was just as nice. If I had to break a bone atleast they made me as comfortable and cared for as possible. Sincerely, Elizabeth M.

Thank you to the wonderful team who helped me tonight, Dr. Raz, Dorothy, Julie, Mara, Sydney, Sarah...I know I missed someone. Of course not the way I wanted to spend a Saturday night but Barton treated me with compassion and respect. The wait was minimal and the care was exceptional. Thank you all.

We had the unfortunate incident of a sick child while on vacation and had to make an ER visit. Major thanks to all of the staff who were all so kind and attentive towards us and especially my son. Dawn was exceptional and we were lucky she was our attending nurse. Only took off a star because we were there a painfully long time for an xray. It was the only option for my son’s condition, but we had to wait for the doctor to be available to see him and order it. Well that was over 2 hours after we got there as he was the only doctor on duty. A 3.5 hour visit could have easily been an hour or less had the nurses had the authority to order it preemptively or at the very least get him to sign off on it before he was available to see my son. It sucks that if youre hurt this is the only place to go to. Im disgusted by this place. I went there only April 10th due to a fall and I needed stitches. Spent 4 hours in the er for 11 stitches, my only pro is how amazing the doctor was. We left and they ask if we wanted to pay then or later, we asked how much, lady said $1500, I said okay just send the bill. I get the bill in the mail its $4600. Like okay thats an insane difference. I finally get in touch with Krystal and she says the $1500 was merely an estimate. First off, the word estimate was never used so maybe train yalls people to use that word.
