Absolutely do not ever let a loved one go here. Honestly I wouldn't even want someone I dislike to go here. They "waited for a bed" in the Valley Presbyterian ER before sending my mom down there WHILE SHE WAS IN SEPTIC SHOCK. They weren't even rushing to get her to the ER when I arrived to visit my mom. (Be Aware Barlow and Valley Presbyterian are Seperate entities) My mother died the next day, and they still have the audacity to send a bill. If you do want someone to die a terrible death while under the supposed care of medical professionals I guess I do recommend Barlow. **edit after trying to contact barlow, and resolve this issue this is the response we get from the chief nursing officer. They truly do not care about patients or their families**

It was my mother's dying wish to warn others about Barlow Respiratory Hospital as she was literally afraid for other patients' safety. Before she was admitted to Barlow, she had been given a prognosis of 6 months to 2 years to live. But after being placed in their care, her health declined so rapidly that she passed away within 3 months. I truly believe this facility played a significant role in accelerating her decline. In short, I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. There were several disturbing aspects of her care at Barlow. One of the most painful was how long it took for staff to notify us when she was transferred to the ER--hours passed before anyone contacted family. Quality care is not good. Some people do care and others don’t. They left a patient sitting in thier own feces for over 45 minutes. They kept saying someone coming.

My husband Michael stayed at Barlow respiratory hospital about 28 days. He was discharged last night to a Nursing Home. I have no words to describe Barlow. The best Hospital in CA. They took care of my husband like nobody else. The staff is polite, professional they go out of their way to help their patients. They work 24/7 taking care and provide the best care. Thank you Barlow staff, you did an excellent job.

My father-in-law died because of this place. There was no testing of sepsis for him after he was transferred from out of town in a vehicle for over 3+ hours. I don’t think I’ll ever forgive this place for the details they overlooked that cost my newborn son his grandfather’s life.
