From the moment I walked in the front door, I was pleasantly greeted by Doris. She is so nice and inviting. Then I saw the hygienist (I didn’t get her name) she was great! My teeth feel amazing. Dr. Shawn is always awesome! So glad he opened up this location since it’s much closer to my house. He’s always made me feel comfortable. Thank you to the amazing team at Balboa Dental Surgery!

I recently visited Balboa Dental Surgery for a deep teeth cleaning and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly and professional, instantly putting me at ease. Doris, who manages the front desk and scheduling, has the nicest demeanor and even gives me hugs. I love her! My dental hygienist, Sokee, was simply outstanding, providing a gentle, yet deep and thorough cleaning. Through every step of the process, she gave me insights into my oral health and recommendations to have healthy teeth for years to come! Dr. Hofkes devised a periodontal plan for me, so that my teeth will stay this healthy for years to come! I have found my new Dentist! Dr Shawn Hofkes is a very nice guy and a great Dentist! You will love his kind and gentle treatment and the vibe at his practice on Balboa Island is awesome. It's located on Agate Avenue less than a block from the Balboa Ferry. I look forward to my appointments with him because I take a walk on the Bay Front and usually take a round trip ride on the Ferry so I'm very relaxed during my treatment. After, I treat myself to another walk on the Bay so it's a great experience in every way. I highly recommend Shawn and the Island vibe. Going to the Dentist doesn't get any better than this!

Dr. Hofkes is an amazing dentist! My 8 year old son had a dental emergency on a Friday night and Dr. Hofkes opened up his office to be able to see him. He is an extremely kind, compassionate and experienced dentist, something that is very hard to find these days. I would highly recommend him.
