It honestly doesn’t get much better than Dr. Backes. We are in the process of switching my 14 year old from glasses to contacts and to say Dr. Backes has been absolutely incredible would be a true understatement. My son has an extremely unique prescription and eyes in general and he has seen us over and over tweaking his contact prescription until we get it just right. It truly is a science and very tricky especially when it comes to the condition my son has. We have learned SO MUCH about the eye and it’s been truly fascinating to visit him each time. My son has had glasses for close to 10 years and we’ve seen many eye doctors and never received close to the care or information Dr. Backes has given us. I was very worried about bringing my 8 year old to the eye doctor seeing this was his first time.Dr. Backes was very professional and explained everything very well not only to me but also to my son. The amount of patients and kindness that was shown from Dr. Backes was absolutely amazing. Thank you again Sir for everything and we will be back in the future for another eye appointment.

Dr. Backas is one of the best optometrists you will ever have the pleasure of getting an eye exam from. He is incredibly thorough PLUS he is one of the most kind, good natured and generous people you will come in contact with. Don't be discouraged that is a walmart - make your appt today! The other staff in the optical department are really fantastic as well.

Doctor is smart, kind, and good price for exam. Staff running vision center can be a little difficult at times getting scripts sent over to other vision centers and stuff and slow most of the time, but go there for Dr. John Backes. Best eye exam I’ve ever received. Dr. Backes was very thorough...and first doctor to ever tell me I have a very slight astigmatism. Would definitely go to again.
