Avecina Medical Urgent Care of Orange Park

On Friday February 20, 2026, I took my son this urgent care in Orange Park. I had a deeply upsetting and unprofessional encounter involving Jeremy Wilbanks, PA, during my visit to Avecina Medical with my 4‑year‑old son. We came in so my son could be evaluated for a stomach virus and cold symptoms. He was understandably nervously whining and unsure of what to expect, as many young children are during medical visits. Within seconds of beginning the assessment, Mr. Wilbanks told my son that he “needed to grow up,” and then asked me if my son was autistic. An inappropriate and unfounded remark. I informed him that my son is four years old and that, as a medical professional, he should exercise patience and understanding. Went in without an appointment. They take Tricare so my out of pocket cost was $38 bucks. The lady up front was super nice and check-in was super easy via a QR code and my phone. I was seen within 5 minutes and then the Dr. came in did what she needed and sent off my prescription. Super quick super easy.

This was my first visit to this Urgent Care Center which the receptionist advised that they have been in business over 4 years. The inside was absolutely beautiful with plenty of seating and immaculately clean!!! Dr. Wilbank’s (Jeremy) was extremely patient, extremely knowledgeable and asked all the right questions so he was sure of what was going on with me. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, and he made sure he called my prescription’s in while the pharmacy was still open. The Lady at the front desk was also so very nice and patient too! What a delight it was to see cleanliness especially an Urgent Care Center. I loved my visit, how fast the doctor was and his bedside manner, impeccable! I have made “Avecina Medical Urgent Care of Orange Park” my new “go to” Urgent Care Center

This is my second visit to Avecina in the last few months. Michelle Walton was extremely professional and friendly. I especially like the system of making an appointment on line. Michelle Walten is extremely unprofessional. Her emotional instability and reactions today really affected me receiving the care that I needed. She treated me very poorly and because of her behavior, I decided to end my visit! When I attempted to disclose symptoms relevant to my visit, Ms. Walten became dismissive, stating “we have more than enough information" and "we don’t do that." This prevented me from providing a full clinical picture, which is a safety concern for any diagnostic process. Throughout the encounter, Ms. Walten appeared jittery and avoided eye contact. She told me the timeline was not far enough for a blood test and explained viruses and the timeframe for blood tests. I requested these for my own peace of mind. But I knew and understood what she was saying and I did not
