Avalon Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center

DO NOT STAY HERE! I would give negative dtars if I could! I transferred to "Avalon Rehab and Healthcare Center" under the guise that this place focuses on subacute rehab but once I got there, I realized that it was a really bad nursing home operating under the new name Avalon, Hamilton Continuing Care. I felt comfortable believing the google reviews and all of the marketing on their website because i stayed at an acute care facility under the same parent company. But once I got there I learned they in fact DO NOT prioritize rehabilitation and only offer MAYBE 20min of therapy a day to patients. Being there for 3 weeks, I received approximately 2.5hrs of actual therapy. On top of this, the conditions of the facility are below subpar and not even ADA compliant. I am non- ambulatory and my w

I had such a wonderful experience with the staff here. Nurse Manager Sarah was absolutely amazing so kind, reassuring, and patient. She went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed for my loved one. CNA Luise and Nurse Kim were also incredible, always attentive. You can truly tell that they care about their patients. I’m so grateful for their support and the exceptional care they provided!

My mother has been in the long term care area going on three years. She has been in 3 different wards. My family and I have found the nurses and staff to be very attentive and caring. Some of the stand out nurses are: Dan and Maria (aide) both very patient with my mom, Susan, Ginny, Shelly (supervisor), Candy and Leslie (a former nurse who occasionally fills in for the other nurses). The receptionists are outstanding both Dorothy (week days) and Mary (weekends). After checking other facilities, this was definitely the right fit for my mom. My uncle and a former neighbor were also there and they were both well cared for. If you want a place that tries to make as close to “home” for your loved one, this is the place. They also have activities for the residents each day to keep them active!

Avalon is a beautiful, bright, and very clean facility. The recent renovations have really enhanced the atmosphere and made the building feel welcoming and refreshed. The residents always appear happy, comfortable, and well attended to by the caring staff. It’s clear the team takes pride in creating a positive environment for everyone there.

This means I have witnessed the administrative process and the way things are handled in a variety of settings at hundreds of these facilities. Avalon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center goes above and beyond for both their residents and for the family members, who of course are deeply concerned that the quality of life of their loved ones is the absolute best. From the administrative staff, to nursing, social services, housekeeping, maintenance and especially activities, I must say, this is one of the best-run organizations I have ever seen.
