My 5 month old son was transferred from Catawba to Brenners Children because he was dropping his oxygen, he was on the 8th floor in the PICU. it started out nice, but got worse throughout his time there, mind you he was only there for 5 days and i’m already leaving a bad review, which is insane. the second day there, they had just got done running tests which makes a baby tired, so he wasn’t eating what they were wanting him to eat, he eats like a grown man normally but he was tired so it’s understandable that he isn’t gonna eat as much, they came in the room talking about putting a feeding tube in, I told them no because he didn’t need it. a day goes by, they’re still running tests and they start talking about putting a feeding tube in again, i told them no, they had the nurse practitione

I don’t even know where to start. Firstly, I am just leaving this review 8 months after the incident, because I hope it gives someone some reassurance. My 16 month old was at Brenners for a total of 5 days. NICU for 2 days intubated due to (2) complex febrile seizures lasting more than 15 minutes each. She was transferred here from another hospital. After transferring we learned she had parainfluenza 3 and pneumonia in her left lung. My husband and I both scared. From the moment we arrived we NEVER felt in the dark about the next steps. Where she was/if she was improving. They met with us as a TEAM every day and night to give us updates. I am so thankful for every doctor/nurse/receptionist and everyone in between for everything they did for us from the moment we arrived to the moment we le

My 3yo has had a cough since September (it is now mid January) I have taken him to urgent care and ER many times and have gotten the run around. He cannot stomach oral antibiotics, so the Dr at the urgent care suggested going to Brenners for an antibiotic shot. Drove an hour and a half there just for the Dr to be rude, not sympathetic at all, said he didn’t need antibiotics and said he thinks it’s acid reflux. Craziness! A deep wet cough for MONTHS coming from deep within his chest is NOT acid reflux. My child needs antibiotics and no one will listen! I thought I’d be in good hands here, but I may as well have stayed home.

Amazing care from everyone from day 1 of entry into the hospital. I had taken my child to his pediatrician twice as well as another Emergency Department and my child’s issue was dismissed and I was told to monitor at home. I drove 2 hours as my brother recommended this facility from experience with his son, although I was reluctant due to some of the reviews posted I’m glad I went. Wait times were very well within reason, the team members communicated effectively with all the shift changes during our 4 day stay, the facility is extremely clean, and most importantly my little guy is better and home thanks to the care and prompt treatment received when it would have been life threatening had it been further ignored. Extremely thankful for all the nurses and providers here!

While visiting North Carolina, my kid had a super severe diaper rash, enough to need medical attention. each and every staff member including triage, nurses, registration and doctors made it a lovely experience. I did not wait too long to be seen and the doctors were quick and attentive.
