Atlantic Health Urgent Care

I went to urgent care for a few days ago for abrupt Paxil withdrawal. The doctor informed me that he could not treat me, as their focus is "cold, flus, and UTI's." While I am sure he is a capable doctor, he presented as defensive during our visit. I left with no help, nor any vitals taken. This doctor told me I could not receive a tapering schedule, only a prescription of five more pills; urgent cares and primary physicians do not assist with tapering, he told me. I have since gone to a separate urgent care and therapist. They each helped me significantly. The other urgent care took my vitals, created a tapering schedule, validated me, and provided the next reasonable steps - including the mentioned therapist's name. I felt seen and heard. Walked into a very busy lobby around 9am on a Sunday morning. There were about 10 people already waiting to be seen. I lost count of how may people came in after me. Despite the high volume of sick patients the staff was professional and care providers took time to listen. Did I like waiting 2 hours to be seen? No, but it's flu season on a Sunday. The healthcare professionals at this location were doing absolutely everything the could. The facility has a clean bathroom in the lobby, free face masks, free vomit bags, plenty of hand sanitizer, and multiple air purifiers. Like you, I checked google reviews before going here. The 3.4 stars is not an inaccurate reflection of what you should expect.

Went in with extreme shoulder pain. Spent three hours there from check in to leaving. The only had one provider which seems to be the case every time I go there. The provider was nice and it’s not her fault that this location is chronically understaffed. By the time I left there were 9 people in the waiting room. I can’t imagine how long these people had to wait. Management needs to do a better job staffing the facility.

My husband got a DOT physical for work a month or so ago- in which he was told he needed to complete through an urgent care. They called him last week to say the doctor forgot to fill a section out and to bring the paper back for him to fix it. So he got there at opening, only 1 person ahead of him and the receptionist handed the paper to him when the doctor walked in and it’s now been an hour and it still hasn’t been filled out. For a mistake they made, it takes a couple minutes to fix a paper. Why do doctors think they are the only ones whose time matters? Unbelievable. And the doctor didn’t even show up until 15 minutes after they opened. 1 star is generous. These places need to change their name because they are anything but urgent.

Sparta Urgent Care is a God-send. I've had a very bad head cold with heavy chest congestion for about 12 days. I should've come in earlier, but I did a walk-in visit this morning. The front desk people were kind and efficient. The wait was about an hour (there were a lot of people there), but that wait wasn't bad all things considered. The PA took all my information and vital signs. She was very professional. I feel bad that I forgot the names of both the PA and the physician, but both were extremely professional and efficient as well. I was checked in around 10 a.m. and I was out of there with 3 prescriptions around 11:30! I can't recommend them highly enough! They are A+++ in my book!
