Tyranny is alive and well at the AH Overlook facility in Summit! Apparently there’s isn’t enough space my entire review - submitting what I can . Not since the Dark Ages has tyranny been so blatantly displayed. It’s really sad. I feel I was being discriminated against because I am housing challenged . God FORBID you commit the crime of forgetting your ID. You are at the mercy of the receptionist and her “manager “ for Dr. Jillian Alderson. And none shall be shown- MERCY. Forget the fact we are at an institution which kindness, compassion and professionalism can go a long way. Never would I expect a smile from the staff and none was given, just the very distinct feeling conveyed repeatedly very I was a problem to them. How dare I enter without having “all my ducks in a row”.

I have recently had at least four in-patient procedures and surgeries, and have completed “5-star” reviews for both OMC and MMC. This review solely relates to AHS and billing/collections. As further background, as a family of six, we have provided well over a million dollars of business to AHS over four decades and this matter relates to a $300 invoice. Our bills have always been fully paid by us and health insurance. After a recent in-patient procedure, we were billed and paid the co-insurance/deductible within 30 days. Months later, I was contacted about payment and explained that we had paid the subject invoice. And then AHS turned the paid invoice over to not one but two collection agencies. Very shameful service & felt racism. I think Chief Nursing Officer of this hospital needs to call their staff nurses and discuss this with them to avoid this kind of worse situation in the future otherwise, nobody can trust this hospital especially when senior citizen doesn't have anybody while admit here. My Mom & sister describe to me their personal experience when my mother was admitted to this hospital last month and they did not treat her well. She is a diabetic patient as the nurse knew about that also My mom had been transferred from their other hospital and did not get chance to eat. After knowing this they did not care to give her food on time even after asking so many times from my mom and sister . As a diabetic patient she has to eat something on time. Incredible hospital. I had to rush my father-in-law here on Sunday night as he was having chest pains. Upon arrival we checked in, those folks were so so, but soon after check-in the nurses came and got us and took care of dad. From that point on it was nothing short of incredible. They quickly diagnosed he was having a heart attack and took him to Cardio Cath lab and the doctor performed a procedure that saved his life. He had 99-% blockage of his LAD and 80% blockage of another artery. All the doctors and nurses were so kind and took the time to make him comfortable over his days here and always explained everything in detail. Thank you Overlook. My dad and my family are forever grateful to you.

I was there for an automobile accident taken by the ambulance. I gave it a 2 star because the doctor that took care of me was amazingly patient and kind, Dr Zachary,Kris Hernandez DO. What an amazing doctor!! Never the less I was put in the hallway the whole time because they were very busy. From this traumatic accident I just came out from. I had to experience a physical fight from a nurse and a patient, that as a witness the nurse provoke the patient by using profanity insulting the patient's mother. Horrific and scary experience. Everyone was running to separate them,cops were involved. What a horrible dramatic experience I had. I had two choices, this hospital or the one in Newark.
