Aspen Dental - Schenectady, NY - Niskayuna

I’m usually someone who dreads the dentist, but the team at Aspen Dental has totally changed that for me. The entire staff is professional and makes every step of the process feel comfortable and easy. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a kind smile from Kevin at the front desk, which really set a positive tone. During my cleaning, Jules was fantastic. I actually learned a lot about my teeth while I was there! Plus, it's such a relief knowing my dental health is in great hands with Dr. Ruiz. I’d highly recommend this office.

I’ve had bad experiences with my last two dentists, so I came with preconceived skepticism. I was not expecting the level of technology that is at this office. Dr. Ruiz was very thorough and explained everything he saw and showed me on a large screen of my X-rays. Very comprehensive. Juels was my hygienist and she was equally as thorough and showed me on the same large screen X-rays exactly what she saw. Both of them gave me the whole story of my teeth. They let me decide my own path of care. For my first visit I am pleasantly pleased. I was not pressured into anything, just provided with the issues and plan of action. I was provided detailed cost not covered by my insurance.

UPDATE: I got my lower left wisdom tooth pulled on January 9, 2025, and still to this day (February 2, 2026) I have severe neck pain all around and a clicking feeling when I look down and up. Every time I look down or up I have about a 30 sec dizzy spell. When I sneeze omg the pain that goes through my neck and dizziness that follows is absolutely nerve wracking! I am a nurse and cannot do my job effectively due to this. While yes my first review was 5 stars because I was in so much pain, they were able to get me in fairly quickly and the day of my appointment the staff was really super nice and the check in process was smooth. I don’t know what the heck took place back there or how far/long they hyperextended my neck but this pain is unbearable!!!! I have been to my pcp a couple of times

I am glad for the thoroughness of the exams and questions about my oral hygiene. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It's easier to be seen than some other places. I went and had an appointment within the week. And at this old age, I finally feel like I am going to get the dental care I need.

They prioritized me on extremely short notice and resolved my situation posthaste. Thank you Dr. Lourido, Shicoa and in particular Kevin at the front desk.
