I first saw Dr Shah for an infection in my foot. During that visit he took X-Rays and had concerns that the infection had migrated into the bone of my little toe. He immediately ordered an MRI which unfortunately confirmed his diagnosis. Dr. Shah offered two treatments options, one was a 6 week regiment of strong antibiotics or option 2, an amputation. Dr. Shah recommended the amputation based on poor results of other patients that tried the antibiotic route. I elected to have the amputation done rather then facing further spreading of the infection and possible complete loss of my foot. Dr. Shah scheduled the surgery a few days later at 6:30 AM and I was at home by lunch that same day. It was sore but I was amazed that I could get around fairly easily.
