Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa

Admitted March 1-March 5 2026 Room 3219: I had been very ill at home for about 12 hours from something that just hit me out of nowhere. My daughter called EMS after I blacked out at home to get me help because I was too sick to help myself and the kids were very worried. I went to the ER and they worked very hard to find out what was going on. They immediately began tests and treatment and I ended up being so sick I had to be admitted, which I didn’t expect to happen. I had colitis, infection, severe dehydration, and dangerous acidosis. I’m glad I was at that hospital. It was closer to my home so my kids could come visit me. The doctors talked to me and explained everything that was going on. I received excellent care at St. TERESA'S for my total hip replacement surgery. The nursing staff are extremely experienced. Jesus, and Denise (day & night) were so thoughtful and happy to care for anything I needed. They consistently inquired about my level of pain, and managed it expertly. Their staff and my nurses as well always kept my room clean and removed items when apparent. I sure appreciate all the personal care and updates on my condition. Thanks to them all.

What I liked about St. Teresa first is that I got right in and a room super quick. The nursing staff was all super nice and good at their jobs. I do feel I was released too early though. Was being treated for flu, pneumonia and sepsis, released after 2 days. Had to go to another medical facility later same day because I felt horrible again. The second place treated me for not only the previously mentioned, but also found me to have severe lung damage and in heart failure. Had I not been discharged early and my case been handled more thorough, I could have handled it all at st. Teresa's.

Every person we talked with or nurses who took care of me were wonderful. The hospital was spotless and the nurses were friendly, knowledgeable and helped with everything. The food was DELICIOUS, warm or cold like they should be and I think at 79 this was the best hospital stay I have had.

The check-in was fast, it was not crowded. It was a long boring testing process but I got to observe the staff at St Teresa Hospital and they are first rate. From communicating with each other or with assisting patients. I had an excellent experience there.
