Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West - Emergency

I came to Saint Thomas West ER Sunday March 8, 2026. I was having a racing heart and elevated BP. I was checked in quickly and with very friendly attendants. I was taken to a room when a nurse checked me in and did vitals. She eventually started an IV. She was quick and today show no signs of bruising. The ER Doctor came and ordered chest x-ray and urine specimen, heart monitoring, and blood work. The x-ray tech came and assisted me removing metal items. Quick and very efficient.. Later Dr. Walsh returned to give me wonderful news that all my tests turned out just fine. Dr. Walsh and the nurse were extremely profession and comforting . The timeframe was quick compared to other times ever visited an ER. I highly feel this was the easiest visit and informative .

Today’s visit was exceptional at suite 330! Dr. Gibson was amazing and provided clear information and really displayed the heart of a caregiver. I hope to make him my cardiologist moving forward. I also want to point out that Marcus in check out was the ultimate professional! Great all around experience!

I just wanted to say thank you to the Doctor and Nurses who helped me yesterday, Wed 4th. I went in for severe chest pressure and sharp pains and was met with kindness and understanding. The nurse gave me a warm blanket and dimmed the lights to help me calm down. I was very nervous to have to go as I try to avoid the Dr. at all cost. I left relieved that I did. Thank you all and I definitely recommend this hospital for someone in an emergency.

Not Impressed. ER was very busy. We were there 5 hours before we saw a Dr. We were there a total of 6.5 hours with 3.5 hours in the waiting room. Not once did anyone listen to my husband’s heart or lungs. Our ER nurse left blood droplets on the counter. When we got in our ER room, it had small pieces of trash in the floor. When leaving I noticed a diabetes blood strip in the floor. Come on Acension, you can do better!
