Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown

This was my second time at Ascension St.Thomas. Both times the staff was wonderful. Everyone was kind, helpful, and thoughtful. My surgery went well and I was able to come home the same day. I can’t say enough good things about the facility, staff, and doctors. My incision looked great. I had a 90 degree bend in my knee which is phenomenal. The last pic is us heading home.

Every single person on the 6th floor had the best hospitality i have ever experienced. I have been in and out of hospitals most of my life and I got transfered to this hospital and stayed for a week and every single person was respectful and made sure I was comfortable. It never took longer than 5 minutes before someone was at my side when id call for a nurse. Id name every single person on here if I could. They where so sweet and never once made me question their care. The only person I did not recommend was a phlebotomist I had that took my blood once. Im not gonna put her name on here but she was very rude and the worst bedside manor iv ever had. She seemed very smart with her mouth everytime she spoke or I said something to her. I cannot say enough good things about my experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum. From the moment I arrived, the nurses were absolutely exceptional. They were compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and truly cared for during one of the most vulnerable and meaningful times of my life. In Labor & Delivery, my nurses were calm, encouraging, and incredibly supportive, advocating for me every step of the way. Postpartum, the care continued to be just as wonderful — patient, gentle, and attentive not only to my recovery but also to my baby’s needs. Every question was answered, every concern was taken seriously, and I never once felt rushed or dismissed. It’s clear these nurses don’t just do their jobs — they genuinely care. Beginning with the registration desk at 5am, and leaving for home by 4:15 SAME day, my hospital experience was simply fantastic! My nurse, Laura was just so helpful, patient, and attentive. Demetria was also so very helpful and caring - especially making sure I was steady on my feet. Ryan (PT) was great too, and very patient. Honestly, EVERYONE - was just wonderful. And finally, a very special thanks to my surgical team, and of course, Dr. Raab, my hip surgeon. He, and his PA, Sierra, have served me so well. Have had several surgeries over the past 35 years, and while many were good, this was by far the best! Thank you to Elite Sports Medicine…you lived up to your name!

The young man in the recovery room who gently wheeled me to my car was also exceptional, taking the time to talk and comfort me with genuine kindness.
