Asante Endocrinology – Medford

Lucy Ortega is a phenomenal provider. She listens, counsels, and is extremely knowledgeable. I have been her patient for many years now, and I have been so impressed with her kindness and knowledge of my issues.

My experience with this endocrinology office has been extremely disappointing. I was personally told by the endocrinologist that she would reach out to her colleague in Infectious Disease regarding my CMV results and then follow up with me, as well as contact me about scheduling a new appointment. Neither of these follow-ups ever happened. My primary care provider had to call on my behalf, and I eventually had to call myself only to be told the earliest appointment available isn’t until October. Given the seriousness of my health situation, this is unacceptable. The lack of communication and accountability from both staff and providers has been a consistent issue with all of Asante. Messages are not returned, updates are not provided, and overall I have felt overlooked in a very vulnera

I was referred to Dr. Gallen by my pulmonologist for thyroid nodules. Dr. Gallen was absolutely great! He was prepared to see me. He had read My Chart and knew my medical history. I was also happy that he knew about my osteopenia and addressed that also w me. I look forward to seeing him and his wonderful assistant, Dorothy again. Corinne Zavolta

I had one of the best experiences since I was diagnosed with diabetes in1989. Lucy and th whole team were phenomenal.

I waited 3 months for an appointment here, just for the doctor to go on an ego trip because my referring doctor had a different opinion than her. She wouldnt listen to anything I said, because I had 1 additional symptom that didnt fit the criteria. So she dismissed all other symptoms. She told me she was going to order the mri that my referring doctor had recommended, while i was in the office, but after I had left she called me ecstatic to tell me she wasnt actually going to order it. She was obviously being petty and getting off on her having the power to deny me the MRI, she just couldnt do it to my face. Told me I could have someone else order it and that she was "saving me money." If you cant have empathy for patients, you shouldnt be practicing period.
