Arlington Loudoun Pediatric Ophthalmology

The did a contact fitting for my daughter. Charge over $100 to learn how to put in contacts (said insurance did not cover) and then refused to give her the prescription because she did not pass her "test" of being able to put both contacts in multiple times. They refuse to give us the prescription unless we pay an additional fee of $50 per visit to continue to "learn" how to put in the contacts until they are satisfied. They will not give her anything to practice with at home. From what I can tell this is illegal and against the laws passed by the FTC. You are required to give a prescription after a fitting and should not have to pass any additional test. Also you are only allowed to charge a one time fee, not additional fees. I will be reaching out to the FTC when I am able.

Avoid this place at all costs. Arlington Loudoun Pediatric Ophthalmology is hands down the worst medical office I’ve ever dealt with. The customer service is appalling—the front desk staff are rude, unhelpful, and completely disorganized. There was zero communication before, during, or after the appointment. We were left waiting for an absurd amount of time with no updates, no apology, and no sense of urgency. To make matters worse, the treatment plan they gave us didn’t work at all—in fact, things got worse. When we called to follow up, we were ignored and brushed off like our concerns didn’t matter. It feels like no one at this office cares about their patients, especially not the children. This place is a disaster. Unprofessional, incompetent, and totally careless. Do yourself a favor

We went to Dr. Douroudian and Dr. Kearn‘s office for the first time last week and could not have been more pleased with our experience. The office was bright and neat. The front desk staff was kind and courteous. The medical tech who took us back was great with my 18 month old daughter. She clearly loved working with kids and was able to get my daughter to play her way through an eye assessment. Dr. Douroudian struck a beautiful balance between engaging me and my daughter in conversation and doing the most thorough eye exam I have seen. It put me at ease to know that my daughter was being well cared for. Dr. Douroudian’s bedside manner was excellent and she even played cute little videos to distract my daughter while she looked at her eyes. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone

I was only trying to schedule a first time appointment and the receptionist was very rude. She also puts me on hold every 10 seconds and cut me off without letting me talk, and giving me an excuse that they are short-staff. I hear baby cry on the background, so not sure if she's handling the call from home and letting all the patients on the phone on hold for more than 30 minutes! By the way, she did not let me know how long the wait is going to be and just ask "can I put you on hold" and proceed to cut me off before even finishing his sentence. When she picks it back, in the middle of giving my information, she will put me on hold again. This is unacceptable.

The service at Arlington Loudoun Pediatric (Sterling) has been great. The check in process was quick, the ladies at the front desk are really nice (we are always greeted with a smile). The Ophthalmologist was VERY knowledgeable, and patient to all of my questions I had for my little. She was also familiar with her previous appointment history which I appreciate. Do i recommend? Absolutely 😊
