Arleigh Burke Pavilion at Vinson Hall Retirement Community

Building was good. Room looked pretty good. Didn't think there was anything special about the facility or nurses. Shuttle was limited and was more for arranging transportation for leisurely occasions. The system was not setup appropriately to handle emergency transport so I ended up hiring my own emergency transport to make sure the patient would get to places on time. Nobody seem to visit their parents here so workers were a little more relaxed but also slower and slack a bit more. However, I don't think any places in this country can provide better service with such a shortage of medicare workers.

What a great place! Love the new leadership. All the nurses, pt, ot, CNA’s, & staff are great. My mom loves it. Tons of retired military brats just like her. Many great activities & caring people. She is very happy. Much happier than she was at home & much happier than she would be if she had a home caregiver. We made a great decision for mom. Where do I begin? My grandfather fell, fracturing both his hip and wrist and was unable to walk after a total hip replacement surgery. The caseworker at the hospital highly recommended Arleigh Burke Pavilion to us saying it was the only 5-star rehab center in Northern VA. And that's when things started to go down-hill. If this place is what defines 5-star, it scares me to think what takes place at all the other rehab centers. I can go type pages about what went wrong here, but will stick with the major disappointments. First, there's a lack of communication among staffers. We should not have to repeat our wants and needs to every single "care giver" we come in contact with. It's 2017.
