My dental office closed after me being a patient of theirs for over 10 years. I was really nervous to find a new dentist, but I came across American family dentistry Germantown and they had really good reviews so I decided to give them a try. First off the intake process was very smooth. The two young ladies at the front desk —I did not get their names — were so kind and patient with me. I love the fact that they immediately greeted me as I walked into the door because we all know how it feels to be ignored when you walk into a place. I was only in the waiting area for maybe seven minutes before my hygienist Leslie came and got me. She was absolutely amazing. Leslie Made my entire experience and unforgettable one. She explained everything that she was doing from the x-rays to what she typi

The staff was very friendly. Check in/check out was easy. My only issue is my appointment felt rushed and lacked attention to detail. The lady who did my cleaning was friendly, but seemed more focused on rushing through my cleaning and continued asking the other lady beside her if her other patient had arrived. It made me feel like she wanted to hurry and finish before her next pt. I don’t think I’ve ever had a visit that was less than 30mins at other offices. Another issue was I wasn’t offered or suggested any thing to improve care for my teeth. I just wish my teeth felt like they were cleaned and the lady was more mindful.

I’m a new patient and had my first cleaning with them today. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. My hygienist, Margaret, was incredibly kind, patient, helpful, and funny! The cleaning was not painful or uncomfortable at all. Always appreciated at a dental office. I liked that they walk through the potential charges item by item, give options and perform a very thorough exam. The dentist also took the time to get to know my medical background and listened very well. I’ve been seen by many dentists and hygienists as I’ve moved around and can say this is one of the best experiences I’ve had!

Lowering my review from 5 to 2 stars. Margaret is a wonderful clinician I’ve used for years, but the management is severely lacking. They did not inform me of expenses to be paid (For years, I had always paid any outstanding balance with the desk clerk before leaving), and suddenly I received a debt collection text about a $61 charge (plus $16 in fees), without any other notification. They regularly send me 5+ messages to remind me I have a scheduled appointment upcoming, but nothing about a surprise charge before they send it to collections, and the charge itself doesn’t even make sense because I had only paid for Fluoride treatment in the past, usually around $25-$35. Staff just said the $61 charge was from “the September visit” when asked, with no clarifying details. Hoping to find an

I’ve been to more than one AFD and this is my favorite one. My hygienist, Crystal, is awesome - very thorough with great conversation, and unlike some hygienists who ask questions with instruments in your mouth so you can’t answer, she actually gives me a chance to respond! Small thing, but it shows that she pays attention. The dentist is very friendly and makes suggestions on how to better my teeth (Invisalign, cancer screenings, etc.), but she’s not pushy and she doesn’t get upset if I refuse. The dentist in OB would get upset if I refused his recommendations - not a good look! The staff is very friendly and responsive - no issues getting through on the phone. This dentist office operates like it should and is definitely recommended!
