Dr. Lee is very skilled and amazing. I had a very difficult eye surgery. Some doctors would not even attemp my surgery. They said it was too risky. I was born with a coloboma. Then later had a cataract in this eye. My procedure was great. I have not been able to see out of this eye for years. While my vision will never be perfect because of my condition, I can now see. I am so disappointed in the results, the level of professional conduct, and the whole process. I felt like I was in a Starbuck's Drive-through, being asked constantly if I wanted to purchase, out of pocket, a more expensive lens. The results were not good, the lens (according to a second opinion Ophthalmologist) was placed crooked, and there is NO remedy. The glare is now worse, and when I asked them to transfer my files to my home Physician, they told me they'd LOST my files (??). It took them weeks to "find" them. I was told, after several phone calls, and another post-surgical exam several weeks after the surgery, that there was nothing they could do to remedy the poor quality of results. I live up in Marin, but I just had my cataract surgery done in Los Altos and Mountain View. Why two of my doctors strongly recommended these guys and I must say Dr. David Chang is amazing and way ahead of the pack as it was described to me his techniques are light years ahead of Everybody else :-) I had a wonderful wonderful experience. I’m recovering from my second eye surgery today and I’ll let you know how it works out! So simple no eye patches no restrictions. The surgery itself only took about 10 minutes. I saw Dr. Chang in December 2024 after being referred by my eye doctor for cataracts. I received a comprehensive exam and was then asked to wait for a consultation with Dr. Chang. During the consultation, he asked me to record the conversation. He informed me that I did not have cataracts and went so far as to accuse me of attempting insurance fraud. Concerned, I returned to my original eye doctor, who conducted another thorough exam and confirmed that I did in fact have cataracts. I was experiencing typical symptoms, including blurred vision, poor night vision, starbursts around lights, double vision, and difficulty seeing in low light. While the ophthalmologists are quite good, the billing department is very sketchy. I have had to call 4 times over several months (each time they send a bill) to try to understand why they are billing me for a copay I paid in office. At no time was the manager willing to speak to me. In the end, I am stuck having to believe their story that they made a mistake and refunded my copay so I have to pay it again. I am hopeful I will not have to deal with them ever again.
