It was my first appointment with Dr Michael Pegnanelli. He does not listen to the patient and talked down to me. He made me so uncomfortable and he showed no concern about the patient.

First and foremost, I will say that Dr. Howe is an amazing clinician with notably positive bedside manner and answered all questions thoroughly. My 9 month old had a surgical procedure done and he was thorough and attentive and made us feel sage. He is deserving of 10 stars. The practice itself is very poorly managed. It is next to impossible to call the office with any questions or concerns. I had to call the surgical scheduling department 3 weeks after my son's consultation to schedule the surgery because no one had called. I have never called the practice and not waited at least 25 nins on hold and another 30 or 40 for a callback. Finally, I was advised to call the office post op with any questions or concerns. Dr. Fisher. 29 years ago my son Michael was diagnosed with a tumor in his kidney. I started looking for a surgeon to help him. At the time you, Dr. Fisher, was the only one listed locally to help. The other Dr that came up on my computer was in Chicago. After, if I remember correctly 13 hrs of surgery & 29 yrs later you have saved my son. Sorry to see you go but you deserve to retire. My doctor is wonderful, but trying to get in is a nightmare. Every time I try to call to talk to someone, I am in hold for 20 minutes and then I am still placed on hold. When you complain, it’s like your the one with the problem. I understand that this is matter of fact for you, but it is not for me. After my first procedure, they never even called to check on me. It was 2 days until I reached out. When it was time for next procedure, and I needed medication, they had the report for 23 hours and I still needed to be the proactive one. Every time I call it’s a different excuse, we had a fire drill, we moved office space, short staffed, only 2 people answering the phones, etc…Need to do better for a specialty office.

I see negative reviews based solely on the staff answering the phones and scheduling appointments. First, let me ask what office doesn't have these problems ever since the onset of COVID. Of much greater importance is the level of care provided by the doctors and the medical staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Fisher for over three years. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Fisher saved my life. He took me on as a patient when my then-regular urologist's office fell short, without getting into details. Had I stayed with them my tumor would have spread outside of the bladder. Dr. Fisher saw me within a week of my initial phone call and he had me in surgery within a week of the first consult. He and the staff at Albany Med Urology have treated me with the greatest of professionalis
