AFC Urgent Care Chesapeake

I had the absolute best experience at this urgent care! I was a walk-in, but I was quickly taken care of. There was no wait, and check-in was super efficient with the tablets — everything from paperwork to the active waiting list was streamlined and easy to follow. The facility is brand new, spotless, and very well organized. PA Jeff was incredible — kind, knowledgeable, and truly took the time to make sure I felt cared for. He's a long time local, too which was great to connect on! The nurses were upbeat and welcoming, Ty set me up in an exam room and was so cheery - her demeanor turned what started as a stressful morning for me into a much better one. The front desk staff (i wish I remembered her name!) was friendly and helpful, answering all my questions since it was my first visit.

I came in with Vertigo issues which I experienced several times before. As a new patient, the check in process was easy and once it was completed, I was already called in by Tyressa. She is such a friendly, bubbly kind of person as well as professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Rhodes. He was very thorough, took his time to listen and explained everything very clearly. I appreciated him giving me a copy of a description that explained Vertigo. I found it impressive that Tyressa accompanied me and my son to the car (she had to bring the wheelchair back into the building anyway). She didn’t have to do that. I felt that all staff was compassionate, caring, as well as passionate and I felt that I was in good hands.

I had a horrible cough and needed to go to an urgent care to be evaluated for bronchitis. Before I even stepped in the door, the process of arranging this appointment was phenomenal. Booking online was easy and very clear when it came to the step-by-step process. I was able to submit my insurance information along with my identification for easier check in when it came time for my actual appointment. When I did arrive to the facility, I was greeted kindly by the young lady behind the desk. They did have screens letting you know how long until your appointment time. I had a great conversation with the nurse, and the doctor was professional, and listened to very well. He also took the time to explain what was going on in the x-rays that were necessary to make sure the diagnosis was correct.

I scheduled the appointment online, and was seen at the scheduled time. I was in and out quickly with NO WAITING. The staff was attentive and accomodated my request to have a female present during triage and exam. I scheduled the appointment online at 1150 from my house, arrived at 1225 for my 1230 appointment, and was discharged at 1308. Staff was very courteous, and there was only 1 patient in the waiting room to be seen when I arrived. Highly recommend this facility.

Jeff and Ty took great care of our family this week. Unfortunately we had to make more than one appointment and for both we were treated with great care, advice and when needed a script for on-going care at home. This is a new spot, and they are currently In-Network for Tricare.
