No phone for patients to contact loved one (most places have a portable phone) . Most times when calling the floor, throughout the day , they didnt answer. I was told portable phone was lost ,then it was broken then they weren't sure who had it. Food, at some times , was unrecognizable. Some staff talked to me in a dismissive manner when discussing my mothers care. Lost some of her clothes. No audiology, podiatry, or vision care was even attempted. Even though it was all checked off to be seen. Doctor saw her maybe 10 min and never saw or heard from again. Even just to say everything looks good. Do better with our elderly is all im saying.
Terrible location. They do not answer their phones and they do not provide updates about loved ones that stay there. My loved one with dementia ended up in the hospital two weeks ago and only found out that she returned to the nursing home when we called the hospital for an update. Since then we have called the nursing home numerous times for an update on how she’s doing and not once did they answer. It’s a sad excuse for a nursing home.
The only thing I did not like was that they do not answer the buzzes when the patient's ring
I've been here at Summit Commons for a little over 3 months. Its taken some time for my recovery and rehabilitation to begin because I had to heal from an infection and BKA surgery. The staff here are amazing, the physical and occupational therapy team is amazing. I've really enjoyed my time here. Grateful for all that have helped me in my journey.
My boyfriend chose to go to Summit back in June to rehab from a leg surgery. He was also a cancer patient. We had minor concerns when he was first admitted at 7 pm. However the staff immediately did what they could to make his transition easier and his next 30 days there were wonderful. No one likes to be at a rehab/nursing home and it did bother him to be there but he felt very comfortable. The staff checked in on him consistently, the PT was fantastic, they were thorough and engaging. We found the nurses and CNA's to be kind and compassionate. The women at the front ALWAYS greeted the family warmly when we arrived. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
