Advanced Urology Associates

In October 2025, I was referred to Advanced Urology Associates of Florida by the VA. The earliest available appointment was January 9, 2026. I accepted this appointment, understanding that the delay might be attributable to the upcoming holiday season, and did so without expressing any concerns. On January 8, 2026, I received a text notification to complete the online check-in process, which I promptly did. Later that day, I received a message informing me that my appointment had been canceled. I made several attempts to return the call and, after approximately an hour, successfully connected with the individual who had left the message. The front office and accounts payable are terrible with this office. The nurses and Dr. Crawford are all fine, but I will never return due to the poor management. My schedule time for the procedure was changed multiple times. When I showed up for the time they had scheduled a week prior, I'm told that the appointment time would now be 2 hours later. They never communicated that latest update to me. They also messed up my payments so many times (couldn't connect my payments with my account and wanted me to pay yet again for something I already paid for). Then, a year after my visit, I received a bill saying my insurance won't cover over $400 of the procedure. When I contacted my insurance, they informed me that they will cover that part of the procedure, but the office had not been submit

Unfortunately, the front desk personnel felt it was more important to be on the phone than attending to the line of patients trying to check in. On the plus side, once I was taken back to an exam room, things drastically improved. Cindy checked me in, took my vitals and got relevant history and updates. Then Angelique came in for my exam. Angelique is the best associate that Dr Crawford has had for several years. She was engaging, yet very professional. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to the doctor's office, which is something I would rarely say.

I see Michael Barrett and he is excellent. Easy to talk to and provides great care. The problems lie with what apparently is the owner's resistance to come into the 20th Century (yes, I know we are in the 21st). Paying bills or getting refills is a pain. You cannot do these things online. Also, good luck if you call and want to talk to someone at their practice.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. As a retired service member and completely disabled veteran I did community care at this place two days ago I think it was 7 February after going in and filling out all the new patient paperwork I gave the sample in a cup, came back to the front desk and they told me that there was a discrepancy with my paperwork and that they absolutely had to have my Social Security number. I explained to him that by law, I didn’t have to give them my Social Security number I had provided in my DoD ID number and my VA. Benefits number. The lady went to the back ask somebody and came back out and told me that they refused to see me because would not give them my SSN. Unbelievable, and unreal that we are being treated this way as citizens in the year 2023. Soc
