Dr. Lindsay told me he didn't BELIEVE in non-encapsulated/infiltrating lipomas, and therefore does not believe in my diagnosis (Dercum’s Disease) given to me by the world expert Dr Karen Herbst after surgical pathology from multiple biopsy sites at the Cleveland clinic showed that they are lipomas- they just happen to have incomplete/partial capsules. Because of this personal opinion that ignores at least the past decades worth of research into these diseases that disproportionately affect women, I was told that there is no testing or clarification from anyone more knowledgeable that would change his mind regarding whether or not I actually have this horrible disease - and therefore need treatment.
