We first met Joann when my son was 7, in the midst endless, confusing evaluations, complex diagnoses, and crisis- for him and for me as his mama. Joann enveloped our family, providing consistent and reassuring expertise, compassion, encouragement, and acceptance. In the early stages while I still didn’t understand most of what was happening, I knew I wanted my son to be fully accepted, fully loved, and fully empowered. Joann facilitated this for both of us.
