Abbeville General Hospital: Emergency Room

Arrived at midnight and was seen right away. No wait. The facility was clean and the staff were all very nice and professional. The equipment was up to date and in excellent condition. I was impressed, and would recommend this E.R. to anyone.

I always have a good experience here. Sometimes the wait can be a little long but I am sure that’s because they’re busy sometimes.. The 1 missing star is because of slow ambulance response times. A friend of mine said that even though she was right across the street from the hospital it took the ambulance over 10 minutes to arrive for a shooting victim who later died. In my experience, the ambulance took about 15 minutes to arrive for a patient of mine who was experiencing difficulty breathing, although we were in abbeville. I know that paramedics are human beings that are subject to the laws of nature. They are not superheroes that can fly to the rescue. However, I hope they can improve their response timing during critical situations.

I just HAD to come here to say: bravo to Dr Michael Sonier! Wow! All he has to do all night long apparently is tell people they’re fine and bam they are cured!!! He did absolutely everything in his power as a doctor, even went “above and beyond” as his words relay- and did bloodwork and started an IV drip on me for no reason!! That takes some SERIOUS skill people. Do not worry- as soon as Dr Michael tells you that you are OK you are definitely OKAY! By the way, did you all know that a ruptured ovarian cyst is only a mild pain to have?? I mean this guy here sees THOUSANDS a year and has never had an issue with infection! People get sick all the time and sometimes? People just do not feel good guys! Sitting at home with a pelvic cavity full of pus and blood is just the way it gotta be!! You

Went in today for severe nausea and throwing up (24 wks pregnant), and I didn't even have a wait! All the docs, nurses, receptionists were super nice and caring.. I was really nervous going in originally, but they made me feel very comfortable!

Had all of our children here and my husband and I have been in the emergency room a good few times over the years they are always very nice
